How to cut foam case lining?

I&#8217;ve got an aluminium case for some glass equipment and want to cut out spaces in the foam lining to keep the items secure?
Can anyone please tell me how to do it to make it look tidy and proffessional? And make it function?

<p>If the pieces you want in the foam lining are rounded and you want round depressions, I am not sure how you would do that.</p>
<p>If you manage to pull the lining, or have additional foam to add, you can use a craft knife, scalpal looking thing, or a utility knife.  Use the pieces as templates and draw around them.</p>
<p>If there are two pieces of foam, and you have rounded stuff to put in, I would try to work out the flat stuff and hope the rounded edges of your stuff will compress the foam enough to give it a memory and hold it in place.</p>
<p>Other than that, there are sewing electric scissors that could help.</p>
